Lucy, Ace Reporter, on the Groom Beat
Hi again friends! Griffin is a shih tzu who Groomer Mom doesn’t think looks like a shih tzu. You can tell us what you think in the comment section below. He comes every couple of months, and always has mats to the skin. Groomer Mom asked me to include a collage she made of Griffin pre-groom.
It used to take Dad holding him to get his nails done. He’s a sweetie, and he’s also a busy boy who doesn’t stand still for long. Griffin was extra good this time; no help was needed. His Mom wanted a longer shave, but the long blade on the clippers refused to go through his extremely thick hair. So Groomer Mom cleaned out his ears and clipped his nails before giving him a nice warm bath. After he dried, slightly shorter clippers did start cutting his hair, with a bit of encouragement. His legs called for the next size down in blades because of the mats. It took a couple of hours to get this finished cut.

Wow, he sure got a changed look with your magic fingers and tools, Miss Amy.
He has an apt name, because the first thing I thought of about his breed was he is at least part Brussels Griffon. Esp when you look at his cute little face!

What a cutie Griffin is, he looks like a mix of shih tzu and Brussels Griffon.
Sunny is furrever getting mats on her ears because she loves to rub up against everything(we think she is part cat), and her thin hair gets all tangle-y and matty!

he surely doesn’t look like a Shitsu and maybe he is part one. he is adorable and kind of pitiful looking even after the cut. he looks 100 percent better all cleaned up…I am thinking maybe she waits to long to try and brush him, waits until it mats and that hurts. eithe brush or get him groomed more often. i wish i could hug him. I was looking at your header and thinking there is no way to tell that your 4 pups are 2 very small 1 very big and 1 med big.. they all look the same size in the photos. hugs to all of them and whisper in Lucy’s ear i love her most of all, whsiper that lowly

Sandra, you would hug and love every dog you see, and that’s a good thing. Hmm, not sure what to do about how the pups are represented by size in the headers. I’ll have to think about that. Thanks for pointing it out.

We don’t know what Griffin is but he sure is a cutie. It’s too bad he gets so matted between grooming sessions.

Now that mom got all that fur off I can see a handsome pup. Moms does a great job. If I had a pup I’d bring him/her to your mom.

He looks much better and for sure feels much, much better. I don’t what breed he is, and I wonder why his owner never brushes the dog. Those mats to the skin are very painful.
