Grooming with Mom: Sad News/Happy News

Lucy, Ace Reporter from Grooming With Mom on the Groom Beat. Today we have both sad news and happy news.

Over the past couple of months we’ve lost two more of our sweet clients. Sunshine and Sophie were both senior ladies, and passed from natural causes. That doesn’t make their loss any less heart-rending for their loving parents. Run free Sunshine and Sophie and may all your happy dreams come true on the other side of the Rainbow Bridge.

On a happier note, Groomer Mom has another new client, a 3-year-old toy poodle-chihuahua mix named Pixel. When asked how she got that name, Pixel’s Mom said that when she adopted her, she wasn’t much bigger than a pixel! Her Mom doesn’t want her to look like a poodle, but she did want her coat and head and face rounded. So Groomer Mom did not do “poodly” things like shaving her feel and the top of her tail But it’s still pretty hard to make her not look like a poodle:

Isn’t she a little doll baby! To give you an idea of her size, here’s another picture with Groomer Mom’s hand holding up Pixel’s chin. (This was before her head was finished.)

By the way, for any of you who have long-haired anipals, note the bottle in the background. It is The Stuff, and it practically dissolves mats so they can be combed out. Groomer Mom recommends it to her clients.

Lucy, Ace Reporter, signing off, and wishing everyone a lovely day.

  4. It’s hard to get the clippers under and around on such a tiny pooch. Almost have to hold her up with one hand while grooming with the other. You are smart to realize that! Most people don’t.

  5. So sorry about the loss of Sunshine and Sophie. Such sweeties. And Pixel…oh my heavens, she’s no bigger than a minute! With Wilson’s thick coat we’re gonna look for The Stuff. He already needs a trim and with his hair, anything that minimizes mats sounds like a great idea! Thanks for the tip!

  8. We’re sorry to hear about Sunshine and Sophie going to the Bridge, but little Pixel is just the cutest little thing we’ve ever seen. Your mom did an excellent job grooming her as usual.

  9. So sorry to hear two more precious ones have gone over that dreaded bridge. Pixel is adorable and glad you showed her size with your hand. she reminds me of my cousin Bonnies belove Teacup Poodle. talk about tiny. I was terrified I would step on her and not know it. she really could sit in a teacup. I bet she was hard to groom.
