New Theme and Selfies

Xena: Hey there, friends. We hope you like our new look. The truth is, Mommy was playing around and accidentally saved a new theme. When she tried to go back to the theme we’ve been using since any of us start blogging, it said that theme had been discontinued. We couldn’t get it back. But she didn’t like the new theme, so she had to find something else in a hurry. She found this new one, which may stay, or you may be seeing a different one from time to time, BOL!

Lucy: Mom’s also been playing with our pictures like some of y’all do. Well, you don’t play with our pictures, you play with your own.. ugh, you know what I mean. Anyhoo, here’s a couple she’s done.

Chia: I’m in four of them! Wait, why does Xena get five pictures and I only get four?

Xena: Let’s have a contest to settle this! Everyone comment on your favorite picture, and the dog who gets the most comments gets to take everyone who voted for me to…

Lucy: Stop! That’s crazy, Xe! No contests, no voting, no you taking anyone anywhere. Just. Stop.

Chia: *running around the house* I wanna win! I wanna win! I wanna win! (etc.)

  3. Yours is pretty, and it has become so recognizable as “you.” Mom just decided to check out other backgrounds after getting her new weekly emails from WP, and then that happened! It all ended well, though. We’re glad you liked our pictures! XOX Xena and Lucy and Chia and Riley

  9. Thanks for the info. We didn’t know about the older themes slowing down the site. Mom’s getting used to this theme, and so far it’s been easy, so she may stick with it a while. She tried Gutenberg and really, really didn’t like it. XOX Xena and Lucy

  21. I am not a regular visitor Xena and Chia, but I like the new theme, it loaded quickly and does not look too bad at all.

    Can I tell you something about my recent blog theme change? I had a good theme (had it for about three years) but I was worried it was slowing my site down. So, I went in search of another theme and chose Generate Press – this is a bit complicated so you might not want it BUT the point is……. a new fresh theme speeded up my site and improved my blog’s health score with Google.

    So I agree 100% with your Mum, find a new theme you really like and can work with. Themes now are leaner (not meaner!) and faster which makes you look good as an established blogger.

    PS DO you use Gutenberg? It makes moving from theme to theme a lot easier because very little moves out of place.

  22. MOL Yep, Those them changes can be an issue can’t they. it’s so easy to push the wrong button. We’ve done it purrlenty. And, seems they discontinue themes all the time. Our furst them hasn’t been available furever. We like all the fotos. Big hugs
